More Live Theaters

Although the three venues discussed previously are tops in the area, there are also three more live theaters well worth your time. Neither Joan or I have attended performances at them, but friends and the media generally give them strong reviews.

In no particular order, the first is the Gretna Theatre. Founded in 1927 it is one of the oldest summer theaters in the United States. It features a mix of Broadway musicals and plays such as The King and I, and Cheaper by the Dozen, as well as events designed to appeal to children. Click on the picture above to go to their web site.

The second in this group is the Theater of the Seventh Sister. To quote it's web site, it "...exists to produce professional theater: classics, new and contemporary plays, experimental forms, education, and outreach programs." Recent productions include: Cyrano, Richard III, and The Fantasticks. Click on the picture to learn more about it.

The Ephrata Performing Arts Center (EPAC) has been offering musicals and plays for more than twenty-five years. A few of their many more recent productions are: The Sound of Music, The Miracle Worker, The Producers, Jesus Christ Superstar, and The Rocky Horror Show. Their web site provides details about the current season.
